Indian River County Health Department
The Problem
On April 11th, 2022, ServiceMaster by Glenn’s received a call from the Indian River County Health Department regarding flooding that occurred on the main floor of their building over the weekend. A water main break outside the building seeped through the concrete slab and into the office area. The flooding occurred in over 10 offices, with damage to flooring and walls.
Our entire team of technicians was on site immediately to start placing equipment and removing the damaged portions of the building.
The Solution
This was a multi-week job as our team was not only called in to complete the water remediation process but also to assist in the reconstruction so the health department could be up and running quickly to meet community needs.
Our team placed equipment in all areas of the main floor; through hallways, offices, medical rooms, and the lobby. Vinyl and carpet flooring were removed throughout the building as well as they were unsalvageable from the extent of the water damage. Drywall and insulation needed to be removed up to a two-foot cut through the building to prevent mold growth within the walls.
Once the demolition portion of the job was complete, the reconstruction of the flooring and walls could begin. Our technicians worked hand-in-hand with a plumbing service to make sure all lines were capped and cut before they could finish with the drywall installation. After the plumbing was complete, it was smooth sailing from there to the completion of the job. The walls were reconstructed and looked good as new with a fresh coat of paint, as well as new flooring placed so the building could re-open to the public.
ServiceMaster by Glenn’s was grateful for the opportunity to assist in this emergency and within a few weeks, the IRC Health Department was open again and serving the local community.
