Hurricane Preparedness: Get An Insurance Checkup

Did your policyholders know standard insurance policies do not cover flooding?

It takes 30 days for a new policy to be issued!

During this time right before hurricane season starts (it begins June 1st), you should be doing policy check-ups with your policyholders.

Just a few things to evaluate:

  • Has the home increased in value?
  • Have any new contents that have been acquired since the last check up covered?
  • Have any new types of property (renter, vehicle or business) been acquired that will need coverage?

Arm your policyholders with:

  • An inventory the home or business
  • Recommendations to keep important documents & records in a safe place
  • Make insurance policy numbers & contact information handy
